WARNING! Sprint double billing
I purchased the HTC EVO from a Sprint store in early June 2010. Of course I had to sign a new 2-year agreement with the new plan.
At the end of June I received a Sprint bill stating that the bill covers the period of 6/3-6/26 (prorated charges) AND 6/27-7/26 (next month charges). I realize that Sprint charges a "month in advance" and although I was not happy about it I paid the entire bill (essentially 2-months).
Today I received my new Sprint bill. On the bill it states coverage from 6/27-7/26. These are the SAME coverage dates that I paid last month. I called Sprint and was on hold for over 20-minutes while the Custer Service person tried to figure it out. She told me that the bill ACTUALLY covers the next month's charges and that they will be happy to issue me a new bill with the correct dates.
In my opinion if I hadn't contacted Sprint I strongly believe they would have continued to charge me the extra month through the rest of my contract. I think Sprint is hoping that when people's contract is complete in 2-years they will not remember or have access to this bill.
I hope everyone checks their new Sprint bill.

I've had that happen before. I found out too late, but If you pay them more than what you owe, they will just waive you that amount in future bills.
Don't worry about it.
BUT! It is always a good idea to look through your bills for any unnecessary charges.

TRUE that they add things! We checked our bill and we have two international text that charged us $.40?? Then we had some kind of subscription for $9.99 a month that we did not add! So yes! Check your bills!

Happened to me too. They change the due date and the bills were all out of whack. I had to figure it out and see that it came out even but it was confusing.

ooh! nice catch.
Even though we should all be carefully reviewing our bills each month, it's one of those things that can easily fall through the cracks.
It's nice to have occasional wake-up calls like this to remind us to double-check.

Hmm I do tend to just skim over my bills and not really take notice. This teaches me otherwise, cheers!

Feels like they do crap like this on purpose.... I've worked for a cell phone company before, all the billing is automated. I swear they're seeing how much they can get away with charging people....

Thanks Orangeathlete!
This was a great wake-up call for me. I usually just skim though my bills, but from now on I'll make sure I'll read them throughly.
I'd be outraged if anything like this happened to me!

Interesting theory, I could see why they would do this on purpose. Darn you greedy companies!

I have not been double billed yet, but I have been over charged multiple times by Sprint. They have over charged me for such things as Roaming, Roaming while outside the US, Minute usage, Data overage. All of the items listed were not possible and none of the items were listed as proof on the billing statement. Roaming - I have unlimited roaming so I can't possibly get charged extra for roaming. Roaming while outside the US - I have only been close to outside the US twice in my entire life and that is when I was a child, Pre-cell phone days. Minute usage - I was over charged, but I was 200+ minutes under my normal usage for the month. Data overage - I have data blocked on my phone specifically for the reason I have been over charged multiple times when I haven't ever used it. With the Data overage I was charged after the fact of having Sprint disable data on my phone.
Lesson to be learned - Always check your phone bill because they could be ripping you off $100s.
