Try updating your profile. Go Setting => System Updates => Update Profile. I don't know for sure that it will work, but it's the first thing that came to mind.

Wrong Time on HTC EVO by 4 minutes

Try this to get your 4 minutes returned (worked for me): Tap Menu > Settings > Date & Time then check "Automatic - Use network-provided values."

I know this is a really old thread, but I'm hoping someone sees it because I've searched forever about this issue.

Everyone is saying that their time corrects itself a few moments after turning on the screen.

However, MY EVO Shift does not correct itself. I have to help it by clicking the HOME button two times before the correct time comes up.

Since I am also having trouble charging the phone, I'm wondering if this is symptom of a problem, or does anyone else have to do this to get the correct time?

    Thanks.

I just got an EVO on ebay. I'm having problems charging it and I have one specific problem with the clock on the home screen that I'm trying to figure out if the battery is bad or it's just a bad phone.

When I click the button to wake phone up, the time always shows 1 hour and 2 minutes behind and the PM & AM will be mixed up.

I've seen other posts here about that being normal. But, the difference with MY EVO Shift is that the time does not correct itself after a couple of seconds. I have to help it by clicking the HOME button two times before the correct time comes up.

Has anyone else had to do this? Is this a symptom of a weak battery or is the phone really messed up and should I return it?

    Thanks.

I think all HTC phones do that. They update the clock when the screen gets refreshed. It is not that the internal clock is behind, but the display needs this 1 sec to update.
I am not sure why it takes that long in your case. What you can try to do is install a clock app like sense analog clock to replace the default one that came with the phone.
