getting visual voicemails (incredibly sentimental) off of my EVO with broken screen

    Hi,

I dropped my phone last year and cracked the screen. Then I ATTEMPTED to replace the screen, but ended up damaging the ribbons inside... so after all that, I had to buy a new phone.

Now, here's the problem. I had a voicemail saved on this phone (not up in sprint voicemail land, but on the phone itself) from my father who had passed away about a month before. I was unable to retrieve it from calling my voicemail, so it obviously was deleted from there, but I KNOW that it's still on the phone. I hooked up the phone to my computer and used it as a storage drive and proceeded to open up EVERY folder on the phone..... to no avail.

Any thoughts on how I can get it? Is it still there?
This is incredibly sentimental for me, so any help anyone could give would mean so much more than you know

Voicemail is stored in the following file:

    /data/data/com.coremobility.app.vnotes

but you will not be able to access the file unless the phone is rooted. You can use any root file explorer, like ADB to backup & restore the file, but again your phone has to be rooted. I hope it helps.
