Don't you have to authorize the transaction within a specific App before swiping the phone? If so, I guess the App will have security measures such as a PIN code to somehow protect you, no? If you think about it, if someone steals you your wallet (the real one, not the Google Wallet!) all your cards go with it as well but hopefully you're protected by their PIN codes.

This idea is not new at all. However, this project has Google as one of its proponent, I would assume that it's going to be hype, once implemented in the market.

I think it'll be more than hype, because important companies such as Visa are onboard in this whole NFC thing too, not to mention several smartphone manufacturers are starting to adopt the technology. This leads me to believe NFC payment systems will be widespread enough to actually be usable by a lot of people and be more than hype. Not that I like the idea a lot.

This really looks promising and so does Google+, Google's very own social networking site.

I can't wait to see the slap on Paypal's face once this is released! I don't enjoy the Paypal experience anymore for their obnoxious fees and other annoying sudden changes they expirement on user accounts (limited accounts, etc.)

Oh and did you know? You get a $10 bonus for trying out Google wallet from your phones.

I never understood that. Why do all these companies sue each other when they find competition? Oh well. Nothing we can do about it. This seems like a pretty good feature though. Maybe we won't have to wait in lines as long now.
