help... HTC EVO 3D water damage - touch screen partially dead

hey guys, i have a HTC EVO that got in the water about a month ago. i dried it, let it stay for 3 days without the battery. it works for a couple of weeks without issues. but one day, all of a sudden part of the screen is not working. maybe there is still left over water or something that got into the LCD.. not sure..

its the part where the phone keypad is located, so i cannot press *, 0 and # sign. the rest of the screen works fine.

i also cannot press any of the third row portion of the keyboard.

i have brought it to the service center and they couldn't fix it with the warranty because of the water damage.. there is a red sticker showing that the device has been immersed in water. they can fix it but it cost too much.. i'd rather suffer with this semi functional phone and wait for nexus galaxy price to come down hopefully later this year. :-)

my question is: is there a way to change the number keypad location somehow so that i can press the keypads and make phone calls?

same thing with the keyboard, is there a software or something that will let me move the keyboard upward within the screen? they keyboard is not that big of a deal because i can do the horizontal mode..

also, is there a way to change the way we unlock the screen? its kind of hard unlocking screen and pulling the ring upward because of the touch screen thats not working....

i have done some searching in the android market app but haven't found anything that can solve my problem above.

    thx for reading..

You can try different keyboard apps from the market to see if the layout is better positioned for your damaged screen. Google it up to find lots of websites with detailed reviews. Try researching Dialer Apps as well. In most of them the number pad is at the bottom, but maybe a small difference in position will enable you to make calls.
