    Otterbox Review

Just picked up the Otterbox case of the Evo 3D. One of the original worries I had was the lens group extending out from the phone, making it a perfect target for fingerprints, scratches, and dust.

The Otterbox encloses 95% of the phone, mostly with a soft rubber. Tabs can be bent away to allow access to ports. The cameras are well protected by the case, hopefully extending the life of the glass lens covers substantially.

Overall, very happy with the case. Not too bulky, comes with a belt holster, and looks pretty rugged. I don't think it is worth the $50 I paid for it, but it is a high value case either way.

    screen in or out

I am looking for a case almost like this, but it looks like the screen faces out and is susceptible to smashing and scratches. is that true? or does the screen face into the case. (which would require removing the phone from the clip on case, which is what I want.)
    thanks

Thanks for the review. Which Otterbox model did you get? I believe they make more than one for the Evo 3D.

i just got the otter box case and it does feel alot bulkier than just the phone. feels like its twice as thick (even though i know it's not that much bigger). best thing about it is that you don't have to put a screen protector on it since it has its own cover. is there any website that has good quality but thinner cases for the evo 3d?

You're going to have a trade-off with the amount of protection you get vs. how thin you want the case. I just ordered one of these: Amazon.com: HTC EVO 3D RUBBERISED TRANSPARENT BACK COVER CASE - BLACK: Electronics

It won't offer nearly the same protection, but I'll give you my review when I get it in.
    Phone: HTC EVO 3D
    Rooted: Not yet!
    Stock 3vo...so far.

I sell otterboxes and all almost all the defender models you can clip the phone in either screen out, or screen in.

The screen faces into the clip-on case, requiring you to remove it from the holster to see the screen.

I've had the case for almost a week now and its definitely grown on me. It was a bit large and in charge for my taste but it gives you that indestructible confidence. It's also a bit bulky for the average man pocket, so I had to adjust to the quick draw holster it came with. All in all I dig it. It even seems to amplify the speaker as well.

I originally bought a body glove case, but after 2 days the color started chipping off. I returned it and got the commuter series otter box case. It was about $34 and I couldn't be happier with it. It's a silicon sleeve with a hard shell covering. I like that all the ports are covered and the camera and screen are recessed in a bit from the outer edges. It also came with a screen protector that just covers the screen, not the home buttons but I didn't use it. It's always a nice feeling to use and hold a phone that's not in a case, but in my opinion if it needs a case this one doesn't make it too bulky and has a good solid feeling in your hand!
