Where can I find Evo 3D ROMs?
There are not yet any custom ROMs for the Evo 3D. Currently, almost all Evo 3Ds have shipped with S-OFF. This means that the bootloader is locked and you cannot flash ROMS yet. A very few rare Evo 3D’s shipped with the bootloader unlocked.

How do I check to see if my bootloader is already unlocked?
1. Completely Power Off your phone.
2. Hold down volume button while pressing the power button. Continue holding the volume key until the white bootloader screen appears. At the top of the screen you will probably see “S-ON” which means that your bootloader is locked. If you see “S-OFF” you are one of the lucky few with an unlocked bootloader.

How can I unlock my Evo 3D?
Unfortunately, you can’t yet. HTC has promised that a future OTA update will unlock the bootloader, but they have not yet given us a date for the update.

How do I find out when there are ROMs available for the Evo 3D?
Register at the forums to receive updates on the status of the bootloader. Also, follow this thread where updates will be posted as soon as we find out.

I'll believe it when I see it. Lot of impatient people out there.

As good as the decision to unlock the bootloader was for PR, failing to follow through would be horrendously worse. I'd be surprised if it doesn't get done eventually. I just hope that they don't drag their feet too much.

Mine does absolutely nothing but sit at a black screen until I release the power button. Then it just boots normally. Am I doing something wrong or does this simply mean it is locked?

You are probably not fully powering down first. Try removing the battery and disabling Fastboot first.

Team Win Finds Exploit for EVO 3D, Should Be Bringing Root Any Day Now

This is still breaking as I type this. No more than 6 hours after I posted that Team Win was on the case and had found an exploit to help gain root access, they have successfully rooted, not 1 but 2 EVO 3Ds. Also along with that they rooted a completely updated 3D with the latest OTA updates. This is great news and great job Team Win!!
