    Screen not working after update

    Hi,

I recently updated my EVO 3D to a newer version. Its the one that fixes security issues that came out recently. Now, after the update, I realize that my home button and parts of the left side of my screen is not working/not sensitive to touch. I tried removing the battery and everything turned back to normal for like 5 seconds and it messes up again. This happens only twice though, now taking out the battery doesn't do anything anymore. Any ideas?

    thanks!

Try a factory reset and if the the issue still exists take it back to the store you bought it in.

P.S. I guess you don't use launcher pro or any other launcher, right?

    I tried some diagnostic tests.

The button test didn't show an arrow for my home key, and therefore once i touch the home key, nothing happens. The test ends once I pressed all the buttons other than the home key.

The Line Drawing Test acts as if a region to the left of the screen is not working. When ever i draw a line in the region, the line shows on the edge/boundary of the not working region.

Both tests ended with a green message telling what is a success. (not that it was a success or fail)

I feel like the phone doesn't realize the existence of these troublesome parts ...

It looks like a hardware problem to me. Do you still have it under warranty?

Try to handheld the phone and if you're using a plastic case, take it off. The back cover must be grounded to your hand. If this does not work, you may need to remove the battery to get the smartphone to respond. Turn off your phone and remove the battery for a minute or so and than turn it on again.

P.S. Don't pull the battery out when the phone is still powered on. You may lose unsaved data...
