HELP!!! 16gb micro sd trouble
has anyone had an issue with the evo 3d when using a larger micro sd card? I am trying to use a 16gb micr sd but when I try to copy file to it through the phone it will stop midway through transfer and get a pc error that there is no drive installed. if i copy to the card on my pc, then put it in the phone and boot up, most files are missing or the phone says no sd card present. it's weird. I formatted the card first, but still the error persists. I have tried 3 different 16gb micro sd cards. I do not have this issue with the 8gb card. I cannot figure it out.

I read somewhere that you should format
the NEW Sdcard in your phone first.
Did you try that ?

weird. does the same thing if I put the card in my phone and boot up, all is normal. it sees the card, so i hooked it up to laptop using usb cable then started to format the card. after about three seconds, error pops up and says there is no disk in the drive. i unhooked the cable and looked in my phone settings and it says there is no card present. I had to take it out of the phone plug it into laptop and re-format in order for the laptop to recognize the card. i am at a loss.

I went to a phone store called wireless toyz and paid 10$ to have him install my 32gb SD card and i have had no issues I recommended trying that 10$ is nothing and then you don't have to deal with the headache

I replaced the SD card that came with my EVO 3D with a 32GB card with no trouble. I found that I had problems with the SD card that came with my phone when downloading very large files. In doing some research, I found out that the card that came with the phone was a class 2 which only supported about 2mb of data transfer rate, which caused the download process to time out on delays. When I replaced my SD card, I purchased a class 10 card which supports 10mb and above transfer rates. I no longer have any problems downloading very large files. I can even run large apps like Pandora from my SD card. Like with a lot of computers, memory speed makes a big difference in these phones.

Just upgraded from the standard 8GB to a 32GB. Only issue was I had to reinstall DocumentsTOGO to make it sync with my computer again. Very easy upgrade.
