    Creating notification sounds

Does anybody know if it is possible to create, or set for lack of better term, different notification sounds (ie. Not on the preset list)? Just got mine a few hours ago and have been driving myself crazy trying to figure this out. Had an evo 4g and saved everything on my sd card, plugged in to my computer and found there is no more movable sounds folder to put them in... Then tried uploading onto zedge and downloading to phone and still nothing. Well it saved it as a ringtone instead of a notification sound. So now im still sitting here scratching my head.

Create a folder named "notifications" in the root directory of your Evo. Drag any mp3's you want to use into that folder. Disconnect your phone. The new mp3's should appear in your notification sounds list.
    Phone: HTC EVO 3D
    Rooted: Not yet!
    Stock 3vo...so far.

Thanks. I just ended up finding the htc hub and went through all the hoops of getting in there and downloaded some tone and it created the folder for me and was able to add it from there. First time I tried to add a notification sound folder like the 4g and guess it didnt like that. But none the less I got it figured out. Thanks again though. Now I can finally go to bed.

You can use an app called " Ring Droid"
It's really nice ! You can create ring tones and
and notification tones from any song you can think of..
And do it rite on your phone !

So I'm having the same problem. What are the exact steps to creating the notifications folder or what steps do I take in HTC Hub to be able to make my own notification sounds?

I have figured out how to put custom notification sounds on my 3D, however, I still haven't figured out how to have different notification sounds for different email addresses. Anyone have any insight for this?

    Thanks,

There is a step missing in this (on the 3D) ... After copying the mp3s to the folder as Evolution said above ...
You'll see them in the 'Settings/Sound' section ... but *on the 3D* it will NOT lock them in , it'll show you made the choice, but it will continue to use what was already assigned...

On the 2D, yes it will lock them and use them in the 'Settings/Sound' section.

On the 3D you have to go into 'Settings/Personalize' and from there make your choice(s), and it'll lock 'em in. .... Done !
