    Nervous about rooting

    Good day to all.
I am heading into unfamiliar waters with this whole rooting idea.
I have been watching the You Tube video, YouTube - ‪How to root an HTC EVO w/ Froyo 2.2 NO data loss, IDIOT PROOF‬‏.

Even with watching it I am nervous about jacking up my phone due to rooting and then be with out a phone. What are the real chances of screwing up a phone? How do you set the phone to factory settings after rooting? can the phone be set back to factory settings if it gets screwed up?

I apologize if these questions seem really lame.

    Thanks for the advice!

Setting the phone to factory settings and rooting are 2 different things. You are thinking of rooting and then unrooting back to the original state of the phone.

I would encourage you to read first before you root. Watching videos is good but reading and gaining knowledge is better.

as long as you install the Hboot drivers first
and then let unrevoked do the rest
I dont think you will have a problem

the video you listed is what I used to

I'll admit I was nervous as well the first time. But just follow directions, do what it says, perhaps learn from others who have messed up and don't do what they did and you should be good.

    Good luck!!!
