    You can't root yet. You downloaded the Gingerbread update so you will have to wait to root

    You have to wait for the developers to be able to root an EVO 4G w/Gingerbread. Currently, it cannot be done. I would advise not to try anything further until a root method for Gingerbread/EVO 4G has been made.
