I know this is prolly the DUMBEST question for all you hack-0-matic pro digs. but i been through SOoooOoOo many forums, n youtube vids n google searches trying to get my htc evo 4g rooted so i can just dl free apps but the info i found is just laid out backwards. to root u have to do this. but first you have to flash but in order to flash... it just ends up bein an annoying and crazy confusing cluster *^#! of files n web pages. to jailbreak my ipad it took maybe 5 mins of how to searching. 1 program to dl. 2 recovery files to dl n was done in like 10 mins. ive spent so many hours researching and dl and trying to root my htc evo 4g and my htc incredible. no luck with either. any help u can offer is WAY appreciated.

P.S. i somehow got my htc incredible stuck in endless boot cycle. anyone got some faq on that?

Did you actually start rooting and get stuck? What is the problem? What instructions are you following?

aright. so i installed the hboot drivers, all thats legit. i downloaded unrevoked 3. it said usb debug, allow unknown installs er whatever. then when u plug the phone back in to usb, revoked 3 does its thing. which it did. everything was runnin smooth then it said rooting... n just looked like it was loading then next thing ya know it slapped me in the face n said failed to get root. is your firmware to new? thats it. thats when i decided that i wasted 2 or more hours on this ish, joined this wonderful forum, posted my handicap n just waited for some brilliant young mind like yours to come along with some pointers... ur like... doogie howser M.D.! haha
