HTC Evo Tip With The Brightness

Here's a tip and quick guide that you might not know about with the bright settings. Did you know that with the HTC Evo brightness you only need to have it at 12% or either less? It should be on this setting all of the time. The only time that you need to change the setting is when you're outside and then you need to change the setting to 100%. Some people only like to change it to 60-80% depending on what all they might do outside with it. The more you're able to save with the bright settings, the longer it might increase your battery life and that's why it's vital to always make sure that you don't use more of your bright settings then you need. What bright settings do you use?

You know, that is a pretty good tip. It's sort of obvious, but I bet a lot of new users don't realize how much extra battery gets sapped by having the brightness up all the way. I like my screen brightness low while indoors anyway. It's easier on the eyes.

Exactly, the screen and the antennas are the two most power hungry components of most phones. While you can't do much about the radios (apart from turning off Bluetooth and Wifi when not using them), you can benefit from lower brightness at any time.
Personally I prefer to set it to automatic so I don't have to switch it back up manually when I go outside, but I reckon that manually setting the brightness level will save you even more battery.

You ain't kidding. I had to turn it up today full blast in the hot sun, came inside and the screen was so bright my eyes burned.

I try to adjust my bright settings before playing a game. I have found that also helps with battery life.

Handy tips, especially for someone who doesn't really mind the brightness of their phones. I play a lot of games with mine, I'd give this one a try to save my batt life.

The brightness setting tips are great, but how can you keep it from automatically dimming? Not self adjusting, but dimming so low that it is hard to tell if the screen is on.
