OMG!! Thank YOU!!! This has been my BANE! When I first got my EVO Shift I accidentally synced all and ended up with 218 MB of phone contacts. I followed the forst responders advice but a bit differnt on the EVO Shift perhaps?

Open PEOPLE > click MENU > click MORE > click LINKED CONTACTS > click DESELECT ALL

I finally got rid of ALL the FB and GOOGLE synced peeps!!!!

oops! appears I spoke too soon! They still show up under PHONE...wtf?

lol, friends are friends, you can't easily get rid of them...but seriously check the other setting mentioned in the thread:

Menu-->Settings-->Accounts-->Sync

Make sure Facebook is unchecked.

if I clear the memory from contacts will it delete only google contacts and leave my exchange contacts?

I turned off sync feature for google contacts but want to get them off my phone. How do I do that? every contact I have is in my exchange.
